10 desktop snaps written in November

It’s that time of the month again where we round up our top ten snaps from the last month! For those that may not know, snaps are a new way for developers to package their apps, bringing with it many advantages over the more traditional package formats such as .deb, .rpm, and others. They are secure, isolated and allow apps to be rolled back should an issue occur. Snaps really are the future of Linux application packaging!

So for the month of November we’ve had a great selection – everything from vikings, neurons to decentralised websites using Bitcoin crypto!

1. Onos:
The Open Network Operating System (ONOS) is a software defined networking (SDN) OS for service providers that has scalability, high availability, high performance and abstractions to make it easy to create apps and services
2. Pac-vs: PAC (Perl Auto Connector) is a telnet/ssh/rsh/etc connection manager/automator written in Perl GTK aimed at making both administrators and switchers (from Windows) live easier
3. ZeroNet: Decentralized websites using Bitcoin crypto and the BitTorrent network – https://zeronet.io
4.Neuronify: An educational tool meant to create intuition for how neurons and neural networks behave
5. Snaplint: A tool which scans your snap and points out rule and policy violations
6.Ssocks: A shadowsocks snap app
7. Hexchat: A graphical IRC client with a GTK+ GUI
8. Supercalc-snap: A bundle of calculation tools
9.Qt-2048-snap: 2048 is a single-player puzzle game in which the objective is to slide numbered tiles on a grid to combine them and create a tile with the number 2048.
10. Viking-gps: Viking aims to be easy to use, yet powerful in accomplishing a wide variety of GPS related tasks

And because we’re in festive spirit, if you’re looking to speed up your typing over the holidays – why not try the qstamina-snap!

Happy snapping! And learn more at Snapcraft.
