Ubuntu Server development summary – 13 February 2018


Hello Ubuntu Server!

The purpose of this communication is to provide a status update and highlights for any interesting subjects from the Ubuntu Server Team. If you would like to reach the server team, you can find us at the #ubuntu-server channel on Freenode. Alternatively, you can sign up and use the Ubuntu Server Team mailing list.

cloud-init

  • cloud-init status –wait blocks until all stages complete (LP: #1747965)
  • SRU EC2 upgrade path fix for ‘systemctl restart cloud-init.service’ (LP:1748354)
  • Fix ds-identify nocloud detection with bind mounted writable/system-data directory (LP: #1747070)
  • Tests: include missing unitests in python2.6 environments. Fix py2.6 incompatilibilies

curtin

  • Fix image url download for python2.7. Fix CI to avoid image downloads when source version is unspecified.
  • Curtin zfsroot as fstype for MAAS (Experimental)
  • LiveCD undesired swap behavior. Curtin needs to unmount auto-mounted swaps
