MariaDB the newest member of the Charm Partner Programme

Canonical is excited to announce that MariaDB has joined the Charm Partner Programme. Canonical’s Charm Partner Programme helps solution providers make best use of Canonical’s universal service modeling tool, Juju. Juju makes it easy to deliver complete solutions in minutes, on virtually any public or private cloud through the use of Charms. MariaDB Enterprise™ for IBM Power8 will be the initial charm created and maintained in the Juju Charm Store, which has over 300 cloud based applications ready to be deployed, scaled and managed on most public and private clouds, as well as bare metal.

MariaDB is a recognized leader in open source database solutions for SaaS, cloud and on-premises applications that require high availability, scalability and performance. MariaDB is the database of choice for Red Hat, Rackspace and Pivotal Cloud Foundry for their customers,  and serves over 2 million users globally and 500 customers in over 35 countries, including global brands such as HP, Wikipedia, Virgin Mobile, 1&1 Internet, and Booking.com. The MariaDB Enterprise server provides advanced extensions, support, and expertise for enterprises deploying Maria-DB for mission-critical workloads.

“With the new Canonical Charm for MariaDB on IBM Power8, enterprises can now deploy massively scalable, high-performance database workloads even faster.” commented Roger Levy, VP of Product Management, MariaDB Corp.

“We are thrilled to have MariaDB, a rapidly growing leader share in the open-source database market, join our programme. MariaDB, like Canonical, is a strong supporter of the IBM Power8 platform, and we are looking forward to the exciting work we can do together both on that platform and beyond,” said Stefan Johannson, Global Software Alliances Director at Canonical.
