Ubuntu at Embedded World: development boards, embedded PC and more


Embedded World Exhibition & Conference is taking place this week in Nuremberg, Germany – since 2003, each year the event offers the embedded community the opportunity to obtain information about new products and innovations and network with industry professionals. Canonical are attending Embedded World supporting partner activities, and meeting with industry partners.

Some very exciting announcements were made by our partners at the show this week, the highlights being Dell and Qualcomm.

 

Dell

Dell announced the Embedded Box PC 3000 Series and 5000 Series coming to market in summer 2016. The Embedded Box PC will be available with Ubuntu operating system, and we’re very excited to partner with Dell to provide software security and reliability to match that of Dell’s hardware. Qualcomm

Today, it was announced that Canonical will create an ARM 64 developer environment based on Ubuntu Core and on the DragonBoard™ 410c by Arrow Electronics, which features the 64-bit Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 410 quad-core processor, which can scale from ARM-based servers to embedded solutions.
