# Set up your Juju deployment

To set up a cloud deployment with Juju, you need a cloud, Juju, and charms.

1. [Install the juju CLI client](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-juju.md#install-juju).
2. Consult our [list of supported clouds](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/reference/cloud/list-of-supported-clouds.md#list-of-supported-clouds) and prepare your cloud(s).
3. Add your [cloud definition(s)](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-clouds.md#add-a-cloud) and [cloud credential(s)](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-credentials.md#add-a-credential) to Juju and use your `juju` CLI client to [bootstrap a Juju controller](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-controllers.md#bootstrap-a-controller) (control plane) into your cloud. Once the controller is up, you may connect further clouds directly to it.
4. Add [users](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-users.md#add-a-user), [SSH keys](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-ssh-keys.md#add-an-ssh-key), [secret backends](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-secret-backends.md#add-a-secret-backend), etc.
5. Add [models](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-models.md#add-a-model) (workspaces) to your controller, then start [deploying, configuring, integrating, scaling, etc., charmed applications](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-applications.md#manage-applications). Juju takes care of the underlying infrastructure for you, but if you wish you can also customize [storage](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-storage.md#add-storage), [networking](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/juju/4.0/howto/manage-spaces.md#add-a-space), etc.
