We require an HR function that is global in thinking while lean in execution - we have employees and contractors in more than 40 countries, despite employing fewer than 1,000 people. Canonical provides a unique window into the world of 21st-century digital business.
Role Summary
We are looking for a talented Learning & Development Manager to design, build and implement a world class learning programme, fit for a remote first company. We’re a growing business and we want to continue our success by further investing in the development of our team members.
Whilst this is a standalone learning role, you will be joining an energetic team of HR professionals. This role is likely to be home-based out of EMEA or the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
- Use your energy, learning expertise and business acumen to establish a trusted partnership with a diverse set of business leaders.
- Be accountable for creating and driving the global learning and development strategy.
- Take accountability for the company’s learning and development budget.
- Partner with HR, Workplace Engineering, and business leaders to strengthen the relationship between learning, experiences and careers.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the company.
- Partner and support the broader HR team with org-wide needs in coaching and developing leaders.
- Develop and experiment with new learning solutions and create intellectual property that advances the impact for learners; develop programmatic solutions with multiple connection points across offerings.
- Build a comprehensive set of analytics to measure learning impact.
- Facilitate training and development programmes across the organisation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified with an HR or L&D professional certification
- Experience working in a multicultural environment, preferably within the technology sector
- Thought leader and subject matter expert in all things learning
- Able to prioritise workload, manage time effectively and able to work under pressure
- Self motivated, organised, confident, results-orientated with a positive outlook and a clear focus on accuracy
- Able to work in a globally distributed environment
- Fluent in business English (written and spoken)
