Here’s a quick recap of an exciting start to 2015. ## “Snappy” Ubuntu Core Last month, Canonical announced snappy Ubuntu Core, the new, transactional version of Ubuntu, designed for public clouds. Prior to this month’s announcements, snappy Ubuntu Core images were available on Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, and Amazon AWS. This month, we’ve announced new images for [Vagrant Cloud](http://ubunt.eu/ketALO), as well as [OVA images](http://ubunt.eu/u6ozxl) to allow you to run snappy Ubuntu Core on the hypervisor of your choice. Snappy Ubuntu Core on smart devices delivers bullet-proof security, reliable updates and the enormous Ubuntu ecosystem at your fingertips, bringing the developer’s favourite cloud platform to a wide range of internet things, connected devices and autonomous machines. Skymind, the company behind the open-source project DeepLearning4J, which is the first commercial-grade, open-source deep-learning library written in Java, is the [latest addition to Canonical’s Charm Partner Programme](http://ubunt.eu/ZZ2UhR). As the leading OpenStack distributor, and leading Linux distribution on all major public clouds, we owe much of our success to our amazing partners. We recently ran our 6th annual cloud and server survey, and the results are in! They show interesting trends regarding OpenStack adoption, cloud infrastructure preferences, and what workloads companies are looking to deploy.
